A hands-on AI course

Get started with AI, for real.

You know you should be learning AI, but the time never seems right, and it’s hard to even know where to begin. This course makes the time and gives you a clear start: a half-day hands-on workshop at your office, followed by three weeks of guided practice on your own tasks. You learn what AI is genuinely good for, how to use it well, and when not to — on the tasks that fill your actual workday.

overwhelmed by AI
fluent with it
guessing when to use it
knowing when not to
falling behind
getting more done, faster

You know you need AI.
The how is the hard part.

New tools launch every week, and everyone swears by a different one. Working out which actually matter, and how they fit your job, is a moving target.

You know you have to learn this, and you feel that you’re getting left behind. That pressure builds with every month you wait.

A tool this powerful should leave you more capable and less anxious, not the other way around. Learning it shouldn’t be a second job.

Portrait of Tobias Sjösten

Tobias Sjösten — plain answers, no hype.

I've spent a career in software, most recently leading engineering teams through the move to working with AI. Since early 2025, I've done the majority of my own work with AI, on real systems that people depend on. You don't need to be technical to take this course. I'll show you what works, and what AI still can't do, or shouldn't.

  1. 01
    Half-day workshop

About three hours, in person and hands-on. Your AI tool is installed before we start, so the time goes to using it: how the models work, how to prompt them, and how to give them the context they need.

  2. 02
    Three weeks of practice

Each week brings one new idea that you put to use in your own work that same week. Expect about an hour of reading a week, and the rest of the week going a little slower while you bring AI into your work.

  3. 03
    Friday check-ins

A live video call at the end of each week for questions and specific advice. Can't make it? Every call is recorded, and you can post your question in the course community.

  4. 04
    Material and community

Course material you can come back to whenever you need it, and a community to lean on when you get stuck.

A working setup

Your organization's AI tool, installed and ready on your computer by the time we start.

Practice on your real work

The workshop's case is built around your organization's work, and each week's lesson goes straight onto your own tasks.

Judgment

When to reach for AI, when to trust what it says, and when to leave it alone.

Who this is for

For you if

  • You want AI to help with your daily work
  • You're tired of tutorials that don't stick
  • You'd rather get ahead of this than keep catching up

Not if

  • You're a developer wanting to go deep on coding with AI
  • You want theory to read rather than hands-on practice
  • You're looking for a magic shortcut

The best manager I've worked with. What stood out most was his combination of strong technical leadership and genuine care for people.

Within your AI policy

I review your organization's AI policy before we start, teach it as part of the course, and make sure everything we do stays within it.

Security in every part

Each part of the workshop has a security segment on what could go wrong: answers that are made up, a model that agrees with whatever you suggest, and information that shouldn't leave the building.

You stay accountable

A few golden rules, easy to remember, for when to lean on AI and when to check its work or leave it out.

Do I need to be technical?

No. If you use a computer for your work, you can do this. Nothing here assumes coding or a technical background.

Which AI tool will I use?

The one your organization already uses, Claude or ChatGPT. The workshop runs in it, so what you practice is what you’ll have at work the next morning. The course also teaches you to judge new tools as they appear, and I keep it current as they change. It’s independent and not affiliated with or endorsed by any AI vendor.

Where does it happen?

The workshop is in person at your office. I’m based in Stockholm; anywhere else, your organization covers my travel. Everything after the workshop is remote.

Is it in English or Swedish?

Either. Your organization chooses when it books the course.

What if I can't make a Friday call?

Every check-in is recorded, and everyone invited can go back to it afterwards. You can also post your question in the course community: I’m available for questions throughout the course, and in the community after it.

How do I sign up?

AI at Work is booked by organizations for a group of colleagues, and priced per participant. Interested, but not the one who books training? Share the page for organizations with your manager or HR, or leave your details below and I’ll send you what they need to decide.
